Key facts on Dependant's Pass

Dependant's Pass is for spouses and children of eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders.

Pass facts

Who it is for: Legally married spouse or unmarried children under 21 years of eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders.
Who can apply: An employer or appointed employment agent must apply on behalf of the candidate.
What is the duration: The duration is tied to the validity of the main work pass or up to the duration requested, whichever is shorter.  
Is it renewable: Yes.

Features of the pass

The key features of the pass are as follows:

  • Eligible pass holders may be able to work in Singapore.‍
  • No foreign worker levy or quota required.
  • Eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders can bring certain family members to Singapore on a Dependant's Pass. (please see below)

For dependants of Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass holders

The Dependant's Pass (DP) for Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass is available for the following family members:

  1. Legally married spouse.
  2. Unmarried children under 21 years old, including legally adopted children.
    Note: If your family members are not eligible for a DP for Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass, they may be eligible for a Long-Term Visit Pass for Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass.

For dependants of EntrePass holders

As an EntrePass holder, you can get certain family members to join you in Singapore if you meet the requirements for minimum business spending and local jobs created. As an EntrePass holder, you may apply for passes to bring your family in if you meet the requirements:


A. To bring your Spouse (common-law or legally married) and/or Children

Meet At least 1 of the following requirements:

  • Your business has Annual Total Business Spending (TBS) of SGD 100,000 and 1 Local Workforce (LWF)
  • You have founded and sold 2 or more companies that are venture-backed or owns innovative technologies
  • You have raised more than SGD 2 million for a past or current business
  • You possess 2 or more deep tech Intellectual Properties (IPs) that provide significant competitive advantage to the business.


B. To bring in your Parents

Meet At least 1 of the following requirements:

  • Your business has Annual Total Business Spending (TBS) of SGD 200,000 and 2 Local Workforce (LWF)

Respective Passes:

  1. Family member (Dependant's Pass)
    - Spouse (legally married)
    - Unmarried children under 21 years of age, including those legally adopted
  2. Family member (Long Term Visit Pass)
    - Common-law spouse
    - Unmarried handicapped children aged 21 years and above
    - Unmarried step-children under 21 years old
    - Parents

For EP or S Pass Holders:

You can apply for a Dependant's Pass for your family if you meet all these requirements:

  1. Hold an Employment Pass or S Pass.
  2. Earn a minimum fixed monthly salary of $6,000. This is based on your salary, and not based on your combined household income.
  3. Are sponsored by an established, Singapore-registered company (usually your employer).

You can get a pass for the following family members:

  1. Legally married spouse.
  2. Unmarried children under 21 years old, including legally adopted children.

NOTE: If your family members are not eligible for a Dependant’s Pass, they may qualify for a Long-Term Visit Pass.
Family members of Employment Pass holders who chose to apply as an overseas ICT under WTO GATS or an applicable FTA are not eligible for Dependant’s Passes or Long-Term Visit Passes, except where they are specifically covered by an applicable FTA and meet the prevailing criteria for consideration.
